Be Thoughtful

I was just making some almond roca cookie bars (as is my wont), and the last step was to sprinkle the almond roca mixutre over the cookie. As I was cutting open the pouch (I can't figure out whether I love or hate the word "pouch." It kinda gross, but kinda cool at the same time...), I noticed a sentence running up the side of the pouch. It says, "This foil pouch is designed to maintain Roca at maximum freshness. Please dispose of it thoughtfully."

Seriously. What in the world is that supposed to mean? Are they guilt-tripping me? Like I don't have enough baggage already to have to worry about callously tossing a piece of trash aside. It doesn't say, "Please recycle," or something that actually has meaning. There are no special disposal instructions. It just says to "dispose of it thoughtfully." "Thoughtfully"? Am I supposed to think of the poor Keebler elves that gave their lives to make the almond roca topping? Does it require a moment of silence? Instead of casting it into the trash, do I gingerly place it at the top of the refuse pile, so as to not get "garbage juice" on it?

I'm still just staring at the pouch. (That's a sentence you don't envision saying when you wake up in the morning...) I really can't figure it out. Maybe it's the delusion brought on by my broken foot, or maybe I'm missing the obvious, but I have no idea what's going on.

"Thoughtfully"?

"Thoughtfully"?!

I'm going to go weep in the corner now.
